It has been more summery this week than in the past few
weeks. Less rain, more sun, more heat. Not exactly excited about that (after
all, summer doesn’t really start until the end of June), but it does allow us
to be out more. If only we didn’t have to suffer through Mama putting suntan
lotion all over us!
With the long weekend, we did some outdoor things. We went
to North Park one evening just to play on the playground and walk down to the
water. As we’re not walking or running about yet, playing on the playground
includes going down short slides and swinging. Here we are swinging, which was
exciting for about one whole minute. Then we broke down into tears…
It was a lovely evening to be out, riding atop Papa’s
shoulders…
We also planted a “garden” if you call putting a jalepeno
plant, basil and parsley into pots. But since it’s not our house or yard and
since I’m not passionately driven to have a garden…well, it’s a start.
Then the GPS took us on the very round-about way to get to a
little hidden park called Fall Run which has a short trail meandering along a
creek to a small waterfall. Our all-terrain stroller did beautifully on the
slightly muddy, rocky path. We stopped to put our feet in the cold water. You
can’t tell, but we didn’t like that at all!
Back at home, here we are enjoying Finiding Nemo with Papa. Really, our attention span is long enough
to watch about five minutes of it, giggling at the colorful little fish at
school. It’s about bedtime, though, so we don’t mind curling up with Papa for a
little while.
We have also discovered Mama’s Tupperware drawer, which is
great fun to play with. So we don’t pull the drawer out on top of our self,
Mama pulls it out for us and sets it on the floor. We discovered that since we
can now crawl up and over things, it is the perfect size to sit in – how fun is
that!?
