Book Review

Sophie is a young DA in Atlanta. As a prosecutor, she’s used to getting near crime, but when she finds herself at the scene of a double homicide…being on the other side as a witness becomes a bit more than she bargained for. The perpetrator is the brother of a gang leader, which leads to threats against her life. The defense attorney is very good at defending those on the wrong side of the law. And now she requires protection from the handsome Cooper Knight. As she tries to continue her work prosecuting an investor who was employed by a local, powerful bank; she begins to realize that her case may not be as straightforward as she thought – leading to the possibility that the danger she has faced may not have to do with her witnessing a crime at all.

Lone Witness by Rachel Dylan is an excellent light-read legal thriller. Although the every day conversations between the characters seem a bit stilted, the legal situations are interesting and the story moves along nicely with a few welcome surprises. An excellent summer read!
